Meet the New Member of the OTE Team: Jack Clarkson

The OTE Team is expanding and we want to introduce to you our newest OTE Fuelled recruit Jack Clarkson!

What is your new role at OTE?
I am joining the team from the engineering trade having previously worked in bike shops before. I will be taking on the role of Northern Sales and look forward to spreading the OTE word.
I have been using OTE for some time now and am really impressed with the brand and the functionality of the products. I really feel it has made a difference to my training and racing and want to share this with others.

Tell us a bit more about your racing Jack?
Well, I started off cycling as a means to lose weight when I was younger but actually found it was getting some good results. My main discipline is cyclo-cross and over the years I have managed to move up the national rankings and have a number of national trophy wins to my name as an U23 & junior. I have also represented Great Britain at a number of World Cups and Championships, with my best results being 18th in the World Championships as a junior. But I still have a lot of ambition in cyclo-cross and am already looking forward to the up and coming cyclo-cross season, first year elite!
When it is not the cyclo cross season, I enjoy hitting the trail centres on my MTB and getting out there on the local chain gangs. I live in Yorkshire and have countless groups to train with on tough terrain, couldn’t live anywhere else!

Favourite OTE products?
My favourite products has got to be the OTE caffeine gel. You will rarely see me on the start line of a race without a caffeine gel in hand. Especially for cyclo-cross and crit racing those things are like rocket fuel!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I am bit of van man. Infact I don’t think I have ever owned a car. As a bike rider a van has always fit the bill ever since I started racing. I have gone from a Vauxhall combo to a Volkswagon Caddy to now to a Vauxhall Vivaro, working my way up to a T5 (some day). You can never have too much space, especially with 3 cyclo cross bikes, numerous sets of spare wheels, 2 barrels of water and a jet wash. Also you’ve got to have an awning, must have for races rain or shine!

One thing you couldn’t live without?
A good coffee! I haven’t drunk it for long but in a short period of time I have become hooked and should probably have shares in Costa.

We are happy to welcome Jack to the OTE Team, if you have any enquires about sales then feel free to get in touch with Jack. Just email him at This weekend he is heading down to his first event for the company at Bike Bath!
